I have been struggling with myself for the past few weeks.

I wanted to do more for my online business and i do have lots of ideas to improve on my business but i simply could not find more time..Sigh!

Or perhaps i should just rent some time from pple who can spare them and pay them for that??haha..Hrmm...i have been thinking of doing that .

My mum has also came up with quite a number of stocks lately but they have been sitting in my box now, waiting for me to photographed them..

I somehow feel that i have let my customers down by not been able to do more..(do forgive me for being late in reply sometime ..i am trying my best to cope with this together with my FT job) as my job has become more demanding nowadays with short turnaround time.

Monday is usually a nightmare for me, having to stay in office late to finish up my reporting and analysis. But i can't complain as i feel good that i am able to learn more and use that to build up my marketing and business knowledge for my own business..

My new online store will be coming up soon with revamp in the interest of my local customers.
Payment via internet transfer will be made possible from there and i hope this makes things easier for me especially during my Sales..which i am planning for one (but subjected to my time and strength)

Anyway, i hope to be able to conduct a small pre-order soon too and i do hope to see continued support from my customers which i usually do. For that, I really owe a BIG THANK YOU to those who supported me for the longest time (u know who u are and i am thinking of coming up with a reward system to reward you gals too)

Let me think of a good one and i will definitely email u the good news once i have firmed things up:)

Since we started our online shop for the past 2 years, we have been receiving email to invite us to do consignment with shops, pushcarts, schools, flea market etc.

In the recent few weeks, I even received an email and call from a lovely lady residing in Australia. She likes to bring our handmade stuff back to Australia and sell it there for me. Hooray!

Now I have an expanded market out of Singapore totally. And the good news is she is now in spore and will be meeting me to collect the stuff. Wow, isn't that wonderful? I save the hazzle of going to post office to deliver the parcel and the good thing is there is no risk of lost mail:)

I feel excited about it.
With that, I am also planning for a total revamp of my website and blog again.

I wanted to make it more user friendly for our Singapore buyers so with extra cash in my pocket now, I can finally find an excuse to do this! But ... Time will be a cricial issue for me. With so many things on my plate now, I need to be more organised and manage my time better.

Well.. If I believe I can do it, I can and I will!

So wait patiently for my good news.

I am tired but...happy

Its been some time that I updated my blog (besides product update) heehee..

Well..anyway, time really flies and I have already been on my full time job for slightly more than a month!

I must say that coping with my full time job, online business, housework (I have no maid or part time cleaner), son and family is really tough. Plus my full time job is not one that allows me to knock off on the dot. Weekend is about bringing son to enrichment class, spending time with family and working from home is necessary at times!

So to think that i am able to survive for more than a month is amazing.

My left and right brain have been kept busy both day and night.
At daytime, I need to be logical and systematic as an Analyst and at night, I switch my brain round to be creative and think of ideas for my online business.

Well..I must say that this is a real challenge but to think that i am able to chase after my own passion with my own business and build my career to add self-value at the same time is definitely worth the effort and time. Anyway, we only live our life once!

Initially, my son was my greatest worry when i started working but it seems that he is doing fine and ia happy in childcare, making friends and learning lots. I received his report card recently and am so happy to see a great improvement in his grade jump from D to a B :) He picks up things really fast nowadays and talks alot too..so I am gald to say that I have made a right choice by going back to the workforce with double income!
It wasn't easy but its definitely worth it!

Btw, we will have a number of new products coming up in line.
My mind just can't take a break from thinking of new ideas and i still have lots of them to implement ..haha..so do come back for more updates and be surprised with our new product launch!

Wet bags are always welcomed by mummies for keeping soiled clothings, diapers and swimming stuff etc..I am using one myself now to keep my son's soiled clothings and hankies when we are out and I simply love it cos its so convenient and now i can stop bringing ugly plastic bags out to keep the soiled clothes.

Wet bags come with a handle so that mummies can hang them onto strollers/prams.
When dirty, just throw them into the washing machine to wash! Simple as that!

Phew! Sale is finally over!

Phew! I am so glad to say goodbye to my 2nd Anniversary Sale!
Thanks to all who came by and really supported us:)

I was so touched by the overwhelming response.
In fact, even well before my sale started, I have received a number of emails to ask me about my sale details and date of launch so that they can stand by to "snatch" the sale item..haha..

And .. true enough, when I officially declared that my sale is on, i received numerous emails to place orders within minutes..

Popular items were snatched off from the shop almost immediately and happy to say that i have sold off ALL my multipurpose gadget pouches, organiser pouches, fabric scraps and all the bags and totes!
Wow..I thought that was fast!

And from 5 big boxes of goodies, I am only left with a miserable few pieces and MORE THAN 180 pieces have been sold out! Wow..its indeed a pleasant surprise to us!
Thanks once again!

This brought me back to where I first started 2 years back and held my sale for the very first time, response was no way comparable to this. My sales was quite poor and sold barely 10 items off my shop. Frankly, I was quite disappointed at that time but I thought to myself that things will get better and improved as I gained my exposure.

And YES, i did it! I really love all my customers who have supported me along my way. Thanks so much for standing by us and giving us your continuous support whenever we launched new product. Without all of you, we will not be here :)

And now, i can happily returned to the workforce! Yay!
But not to worry, my business do CONTINUE as my passion does not die off here as i LOVE what i am doing and my creative juices will continue to flow!

The Art of Organising!

Remember the Ang Pow organiser which my mum has sewed for me? (see my earlier post)
With CNY almost coming to an end, i have converted this wonderful pouch to my organiser pouch.

I simply love the functional part of this pouch.
Its super spacious with so many compartments.
Now i use this pouch as my daily organiser pouch for putting my pens, planner, cash, cards, calculator and hp and yes, i do carry it around with me everywhere i go :)

This will be a perfect pouch when i go back to the workforce in a few weeks' time.
I just need to carry and off i go for my meeting:)

There is no better word to describe how much i am in love with this pouch:)

My Ang Pow organiser

Hrmm..i know this came abit too late:(

I have a number of mummies asking for an Ang Pow organiser which has a number of pockets so that they can organise Ang Pows..

A pity my mum just came up with this yesterday after she tried one out for herself.
I love this organiser cos it is super spacious and can hold ang pows which are very long. It has 2 wide pockets for angpows, a middle zipper pocket for extra cash, a back zipper pocket for some spare ang angs that u need in case of emergency surprise:)

So now, only my mum and myself have these pouches..hehee ..cos we can't accept orders now as there is no way we can rush them out at all ..moreover, my mum has already officially declared off till after CNY:(

PS: Btw, do u find this pouch familiar? Cos it has been re-created from my multipurpose pouch (just that its much more wider and there are more pockets)
Btw, only pouch of this larger size allows a middle and back zipper pocket cos the width of small multipurpose is too narrow to accomodate zippers.

My Achievement for 2009!

Year 2009 has really been a challenging year for me!

1) I picked up and learnt alot from my business.
2) I came to know lots of nice customers who really appreciate our handmade creation and keep supporting us along the way.
3) I have alot of first time experience (participating in Flea market and selling in retail shops etc)
4) I got to know a number of friends who shared the same passion as me in handmade stuff

To keep things simpler, here's a short sumary of my small "achievement".

Jan - Feb: I have my first time exposure in Retail selling. I rented a small area from Kuchiku in Plaza Singapura to do market tesing. Response was good and we managed to gain a number of loyal customers along the way.
Mar: I started my first Flea Market in Fleatique and Flea Flo Fun. I didn't know that there were so much preparation work to be done just for a day's selling event. I lugged 2 huge lugguge bags to the market, had my first time interaction with customers, introducing products to them, doing VM and set up for my stall. It was fun but tiring but i told myself that this is a real experience for me and i will continue doing this every few months.
Apr: I started my first spree and BP in SMH for my best selling products - Passport covers and Card holder. Initially, I just wanted to test response from all the mummies in the forum but I never knew that this will lead to my utimate success! My thread response was overwhelming and during the 1 week spree, i got my ever first huge orders of over 200 passport covers orders and 50 card holders. Some of these mummies ultimately became my loyal customers:)
May - Jun: My Spree in SMH continued and we started creating and coming up with new items every month to surprise our customers.
Jul - Aug: I was approached by an organiser to join as one of the supplier for Secondary school's entreprenuer program. So lots of stuff were prepared for the students to sell. Product briefing and stock taking were taught to the students. Both myself and students learnt alot from the selling event.
Sep: I consigned my handmade stuff to a friend's pushcart in Cineleisure. Sales was amazing and my total sales came up to 4 figures in just 2 to 3 weeks.
Oct: I continued my adventure in retail selling and decided to place my stuff in both Concept Story and SunFlower.
Nov: I started Twitter, Facebook for my business and launched my official website. My FB fans grew to over 200 in just a month and is still growing.. My official site bring me lots of praises too.
Dec: A awesome month with lots of Xmas orders from both new and repeated customers. Sales in SunFlower was fantastic too! I have a mini pre-Xmas sales event for my customers at my place and it was well received and sales was surprisingly very good! I had 2 days selling event at my hubby's company where i get to interact and know a few customers who like our stuff.

Well..that's all for the summary..(heehee but I think it looks more than a summary..)

Anyway, i like to take the opportunity to thank all my customers for what we are today and we hope to have your continued support in the coming New Year. We will continue to work in creating lots more cute stuff for you.. you will be pleasantly surprised so do check our blog for more updates!

A hectic but fulfilling week

I had a crazy and hectic week.
Schedule was packed to the fullest since this Mon morning.

I was busy selling in a company on both Mon and Tues. Luckily sales was not bad.
I accompanied my boy to his childcare excursion on Wed. We went to Shanghai Toys Musuem. It was a real eye-opener for me with lots of toys from the 60s and 70s. I remembered playing with some of these toys when i am younger..
I have appointment with some customers on Thurs.
Fri was left for my preparation work on my mini sales event and sending off the last few Xmas parcels for customers.
Sat which is today was my mini sales event held at home. (And i like to take the opportunity to thank to those who came by to support me despite the rainy day..I really appreciate that)

Phew! Luckily all was finally over.
At the end of the day, i feel happy and satisfied.
Tomorrow will be my rest day as well as family day. Going for Xmas shopping and joining the crowd to get the feel of the coming festive season! Yay!

My son loves to play with food so I was delighted when I realised that one of my friend started her own handmade business using felt.

I ordered 2 set of her "food collection" from her immediately cos it looks so yummy and real..haha

My son will love it cos all the "ingredients" can be taken out individually. Its definitely a good buy cos i can teach him the different kind of food which he can relate to in his real life and he will also have new addition to his kitchen playset now. yay!

Sigh! ..Feeling frustrated, sad and helpless..SOMEBODY keep snatching our idea, twit it another way and called them their own:(

How do u feel if you are the creator and you keep seeing a similar design/fabric appearing in someone's blog ?? Its a copy!

Sometimes it does make me wonder..why would people do that? Isn't that a thief? Using the same kind of fabric, turning it around, (design looks similar though) and called themselves the creator of that item! This is no difference from a THIEF!

It really make both my mum and myself sad (after so much effort in coming up with new ideas) but it seems like our ideas have been snatched away as easy as that !

For those pouch or bags creator, pls KINDLY RESPECT our effort and do not take our idea and call them your own ..:(

Creativity comes from Individual and not through COPYING. You may be inspired by me but if you really like my design, be nice :)

Here are some very NEW arrival of fabric in Japan again..:)
Yes! I am thinking of ordering them again cos some of these characters are requested by customers some time back and my friend managed to find them! But arrival of these fabric will take 1 month or so ..so pls wait patiently, ok:)

Here are some of these cute fabric that she spotted but I am still deciding if i should be getting all..cos they are not cheap! Perhaps, u can vote for the ones u like and i will order them!

Anyway, Xmas is just around the corner and i am sure that these fabric will be good for some cute creations and timely for Xmas orders. Plus these fabric are quite rare and not easily found too so they will really be one of a kind if we use them:)
Also, is there anyone interested in pacman, ultraman or Super Mario too?
Still thinking if i should order them..let me know if u want them ya!

Result of Itchy Hand = New Fabric

I brought in new Kawaii Japanese fabric again..I could not help but to buy these fabric cos its so cute..I believe these fabric will go off fast too, just the the earlier batch i brought in..they are almost gone!

So have to restock again.

I launched my small planners to my regular customers last night as I have only very limited pieces:) Only 7 pieces on hand and it was almost snatched up in less than 24 hours:)
It comes with a bookmark ribbon and a inner zipper pocket for a pen.

I wanted to do more but i could not get hold of more inner planners:(

Book Covers..this is one of my favourite product since we launched it last year.

I simply love it cos i find it so useful with a front zipper pocket, a ribbon bookmark and a inner card slot.

In fact, i sold them pretty fast when i placed them in Retail shop and pushcart ..All the book covers are gone almost quite fast..

Now, i am thinking of relaunching a few more with some of my newly arrived yummy fabric since Xmas is just a few months away:)
It will be a great gift for friends and colleagues:)

Cute drawstring pouch using one of the sweet pooh fabric.
I did one for my sis so that she can carry it out for her lunch (since her last lunch pouch is spolit)

I will be doing a sling one soon so that small little gals can use them.
The size is right for putting HP, cash, keys, tissue etc..
The size is just right for office ladies who likes something cute to put their items for lunch:)

More Yummy Fabric has arrived..hand itchy again

I was feeling itchy these few weeks and place orders for more yummy fabric.

Sigh! a real bad habit of mine..seriously, i have no idea when these fabric will run out..in fact i have 3 cupboards of fabric at home (with 5 drawers each)
So with these fabric on board, i have no more room ..so i have to look for nice boxes again..oh no!

Anyway, these fabric will sure turn out to be some nice creations again.
I am getting prepared for creating more cute items for the coming pushcart and selling program in Nanyang Polytechnic (more lobang from a dear friend of mine..heehee )

What's more, we will be placing our items in some handmade shops too..i will be back for more details soon..:)

I place more orders for this cute pooh bear fabric as it was almost running out..

I simply love these Japanese Fairytale fabric. They are so adorable and colours so sweet.
Anyway, since there are so a few sellers on SMH using sanrio fabric nowadays , think perhaps i should switch more to japanese fabric as i have loads of them at home (so hopefully this time, i will not see sellers copying my idea of using similar fabric again..but anyway, i can't stop them too.:P...Sigh!)

A cute Doraemon cap for my son

My darling son loves Barney and Doraemon alot. They are his favourite characters.
So this is one of the reason why i brought in the Doraemon fabric.

Anyway, my mum and myself realised that my son's head has been growing very fast nowadays (he's 20 months old now) and the last few caps that my mum did for him seems tight now.

So as usual, my mum took out her measuring tape and measured my son's head circumference and did a cap for his grandson again:)
It turns out well and fit perfectly on my son.

My son was not cooperative during photo shooting so here I was, using his favourite Doraemon soft toy as the model..haha

Made these for a customer and it turns out well.
We can never go wrong with such a cute fabric:)

Some updates..
1) We are done with all the orders for our 5th BP
2) We also just ended our consignment with a pushcart at cineleisure..results is good despite only 3 weeks there. We sold all our key pouches and book covers in 1 week..wow!
Passport covers is doing very well too. And surprisingly all are not Sanrio fabric..
Thanks all who like our stuff.
3) I could not resist but upload some of our upcoming products..we did some really cute wristlets with lots of cute small items added (ie. laces, iron on applique, button etc) onto to increase its cuteness and it turns out so adorable:) Japanese fabric are simply pretty and cute.
Hopefully no more copycats:) heehee..
4) More other cuties on the way..stay tuned..

This is a question that I ask myself repeatedly ..

Answer is YES!
I have always been pondering about where to sell my handmade stuff since i first started.
I started off with online, box concepts, flea market, forums, schools and now pushcarts..

Now i can safely say that there is really a market for handmade stuff..in fact people adore them cos they are OOAK and unique..u can't find another similar one on the street.

Now I am facing another problem.
I have demand but supply is a problem:(
Lots of ideas but no time for production..or i should say, i have limited resources to produce them. Sigh!

My Favourite Childhood Character - Strawberry Shortcake

I was so excited when my friend told me that she has found some cute Strawberry shortcake fabric:) Strawberry shortcake has always been my favourite character since young and its really tough to find this vintage character:)

I have asked her to place orders immediately and now waiting for the package to arrive her in Japan before she send them to me.

But think i will only get hold of these cute fabric in only 1 month's time..but its definitely worth the wait cos its so so cute...:)

My New Tote bag

I got my mum to do a tote bag for me :)
Heehee..cos i needed one which is spacious that can fit in my netbook as well as my A4 size file.
The front comes with a zipper pocket so that i can squeeze in my wallet and some pens, 2 inner pockets for my hp and small notebook:)

A matching brooch was added at the bottom to increase its cuteness too:)
I love the bag and has been carrying it since then:)

Time is simply not enough .. Reallly wish that i have more than 24 hours a day

I have plenty on hand to do..
- Lots of passport covers lying on my desk now, waiting for me to sew on the buttons, ironging and packaging.
- Preparing to restock supply for the next school in line
- New product to be launched for SMH
- Preparation and photo taking for BP launch
- Answering to enquiries from customers
- Lots of stuff waiting to be loaded onto my Flickr and Etsy shop
- Presentation pack to school
- Lastly, how i wish i have more time to spend with my darling son..:(

Busy or Lazy?

I have been wanting to post and update my blog for sometime but i have been rather busy for the past 2 weeks..Sigh!
Or perhaps i am just finding an excuse..haha..cos i am abit lazy too:P

Well, anyway, i have been hesitating on whether i should start another BP soon..i wanted to but has been busy with my supplies to school thingy hence i have been putting this aside.

Perhaps, i will really start my 5th BP soon cos we have come up wath a new product for mummies..but no time to take pics and write description on it yet..plus i am afraid that i do not have the time to coordinate and answer enquiries:(

Well..this has been a long wait..my cute Winnie the Pooh and Doreamon fabric has finally arrived and reached our hands today!

They are real cute...and I am sure you will fall in love with this print when u see them. They are very different from the previous Pooh bear fabric i have as their prints are so much cuter, and colours much nicer and the best thing is you can never find them in Singapore ..haha..

They will be classified as my "PREMIUM FABRIC" too as they are real expensive with shipping charges and tough to find. If you like to consider using these fabric for your customisation, a top up will be required..

Drool over these fabric now..haha

MIA? Busy? Updates?

I have been MIA for a while..

Well..I have been busy coping with Flea Market and my GSS sales for the past 2 weeks.

Thanks for all your support! The Flea Mkt and GSS sales was a success and we managed to clear most of our existing stock and now we are busy again with restocking and doing new product testing :)

We have another piece of good news! We have been approached and have been confirmed as one of the few suppliers to supply our products to secondary schools for their entrepreneur program! Yay! Well, this is really an achievement for us cos this means that our market will be expanded faster ..

However, this also means that we have to work doubly hard to get our products ready too.

Anyway, its a piece of good news and we are taking this positively and hope that we can win the support of more youngsters with our cute stuff!

Another Tired but Fulfilling week!

This is another tired but fulfilling week:)

I just started my BP again this week..and into my 3rd day now.

The cycle starts again with us busy with order collation, answering queries, fabric cutting and preparation work!

And i will have a super busy weekend too..have to attend a friend's baby 1st mth birthday and also bringing my boy to Jurong Bird Park this Sunday. (as he likes to see birds very much so we thought its good to bring him there :) Anyway, it has been quite some time since i last visited Jurong Bird Park too so its good to go there for a walk...heehee

Ok, back to business..:)

My friend from Japan just contacted me.
She just managed to order some real cute Pooh bear and Doraemon fabric for me..yah!!

But the bad news is that it will only reach me in 1 mth's time but i can ensure u that the wait is really worth it cos the fabric are real cute :)

oh yes..and i just thought of a new idea again! haha..but will only be able to try out after we are done with all these orders!
